Syncing issues are common in kindle devices and I have managed to fix those with some simple steps. Many Kindle users face issues where reading progress doesn’t sync between Audible and Kindle, audible audiobooks won’t show up on Kindle, Kindle says Whispersync unavailable, book position doesn’t match between device. In this guide I’m going to share with you the fixes with which I solved Kindle and Audible sync issue.
Kindle And Audible Not Syncing

1. Confirm the Book supports Whispersync
First make sure if the book has “Whispersync for Voice Ready” badge on it. Whispersync works only if the ebook and its audiobook version exists. Look for the badge or text to confirm, if there is no badge syncing won’t work.
2. Make sure you are logged into the same Amazon accounts
This a common mistake and the number one reason why Kindle and Audible sync fails. Verify the account on your Kindle is the same as the Audible app and the Amazon app. For syncing to work it needs to be the same. If you have multiple accounts then, mistake might happen. If its different – sign out and sign in with the same account.
3. Turn on Whispersync in Amazon Settings
Go to Amazon website, then Account and Lists > Content and devices > Preferences > Device Sync and turn on whispersync
4. Do a Manual Sync
You can try to sync manually if auto sync is not working, to do that simply press the Sync button on the Kindle and on the audible app go to Profile > Settings > Library > Tap the Refresh/sync button.

5. Update your Kindle and Audible app
If you are using an old software version on both Kindle and Audible, sync glitches can happen. So, using the latest version is the best to avoid sync glitches. Keep your software updated. If there is no update clear the cache of your Audible app (not data). It will remove ant cache related glitches. Here’s how to clear app cache –
iPhone/iPad – In IOS its called offloading, go to Settings > General > Storage > Audible > Offload App
Android – Press and hold the app > go to more info > clear data > clear cache
but don’t clear all data only the cached data.
6. Turn off VPN and Ad blockers
VPN and Ad blockers can block Amazon servers and as a result you won’t be able to sync your device. Disable if there is any of them turned on and try again.
